The project, launched in March 2024 and active until February 2026, explores and promotes the process of European integration towards all generations, underlining its fundamental principles and focusing on non-discrimination and gender equality. EPF wants to build a community to address gender equality issues in everyday life, starting from the workplace, by asking participants – regardless of gender – to conceive and propose possible solutions. The partners of the projects are based in Italy, France, Spain and Germany.
Starting with the Treaty of Rome (1957), the principle of gender equality in the workplace is affirmed, in terms of pay and equal rights, followed by a long series of directives to ensure compliance.
The first directive, initially applied to the economic space, was then extended with the Treaty of Lisbon in 2007, which considers non-discrimination – and gender equality – in the broadest sense. Today, Europe is one of the most respectful areas in terms of gender equality, but studies show that even the most advanced nations need to work on prejudices and habits.
